Golden Paws Award

Latest Update: 17th April 2011 Congratulations to The Barley Mow as the winner of The Golden Paws Award With over 30 pubs nominated for the award achieving the winning place ended up being a hard fought battle between two fantastic Dog Friendly pubs; The Barley Mow at Witnesham and The Swan Inn at Hoxne. For us, all of the pubs we have visited over the last year deserve recognition as great places to take your dogs. We would like to thank both The Barley Mow & The Swan for making this competition as exciting as it has been. Over the last month it has been almost impossible to separate the two pubs, with the lead changing between them several times. The Barley Mow is a great community pub for Witnesham, and Les, the landlord is a real dog lover. When we first visited, he was bubbling with excitement over a dog show that he was putting on and asked us to judge some of the events. We had a really fun day, as did all the dogs and dog owners who attended. The Swan Inn is another fantastic example of a real dog friendly pub where every dog is made welcome with treats and lots of attention. I don't think we went to another pub that had so many dogs visiting at the same time and we’d like to thank all those at the Swan Inn for making it a great day out.
